First Class or Nah? I'm Just Sayin!

Don't look for others to build you up when you constantly tearing people apart.  When you stop pushing maybe others will stop pulling away.  I'm Just Saying!

Who said you can have that married person?  What God joined together let no man put asunder!  That means keep your desperate wanna be housewife in the projects until that married person is legally available.  You are like roaches, unwanted bug sneaking around for crumbs.  I'm Just Sayin!

Everyone wants to be a model but not everyone has the look to be one.  One must know the moves, the atmosphere you're trying to develop, the camera, and where the lighting is.  Taking pictures in your bathroom or a filthy room doesn't required a contract but it does cry for a housekeeper to clean up after a thot!  Ma'am please sit on down and read a book perhaps a book that will guide you on cleaning.  I'm Just Sayin!

Which leads me to the this........I'm sick of looking a but shots.  Put your clothes on!  Nothing is for the imagination these days.  If you spend as much time as you do taking body shots you might just catch you a husband.  Showing your a%& will attract and a%&.  I'm Just Sayin!

Final thoughts:
Learn to love yourself enough to know what your value and self worth is.  If you don't know how can a man know.  You teach a person how to treat you.  Treat yourself first class and you'll attract a first class man.  I'm Just sayin!

America and Mental Illness

Normally I don't blog about the latest and greatest news I see on television or in the newspaper, however I felt the urge to write about yesterday's event (October 3. 2013) concerning the Capital White House killing of 34 year old Miriam Carey.

I find it ironic that a woman who was clearly not in her right mind would endanger herself or daughter, at the very place of people who is in power that refuse to treat or help those with mental illness.  Before you say there is help available, clearly its not.  I can honestly tell you that where I live they have closed down the hospitals, centers and therapy places needed for all who is living with some type of mental illness.  Many of them can't afford private therapy so they are left to wander the streets where business owners will most likely call the cops because they simply don't want to be bother.  Many of them end up in jail as a solution to help them.  How does it help?  Our very own children are suffereing with mental some sort of mental illness and we think the solution is more drugs for them to take but yet we don't want to admit or recognize that a problem is brewing.  No wants to be label "crazy" or "loco" so we just brush mental illness aside in hopes that no one will ever know.  I have heard so many people down play that postpartum depression is related to having a baby and that the mother is only tired from giving birth.  Miriam Carey had a history of postpartum depression and at one time, according to her mother had been hospitalized in the past.

What made Miriam do it?  I don't know but I can say that we ask Americans have gotten our priorities wrong.  Why do we worry about other countries when we have a war here at home?  There are people who are on drugs my mind can't even phantom and our government knows about it and does nothing.  We fight other battles very well but lose the war at home every time the media reports another school shooting, or drug bust pr someone like Miriam making the news.

Miriam had a promising career and seemed to have lived a luxury life (nice car, condo and job) but inside she seemed so broken and shattered.  Why would make such a drastic decision with her daughter in the car.  Make no mistake about it, I am not condoning her actions because she made a bad decision while jeopardizing her daughter's life.  The cops shooting at her with her child in the car is clearly wrong in every way.  I don't care how you spin it, they should not have fired their weapons.  They could have tried flattening her tires and more barricades or something. Americans are so quick to fire a gun.  Look around you at the number of school shootings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_school_shootings_in_the_United_States!  Very alarming!  This isn't about gun control in this blog post however, I will say that America is nuts about their weapons and a person with mental illness and a gun is one to watch out for.  I'm just saying!

We need to see the big picture people.  Things as we knew it are no more.  People are turning against people.  Police are quick to shoot their firearm.  Hate is alive and it is demonstrated right in front of us......Congress vs the President.  All I know is that NO ONE is safe, including our children!

It's sad that this young woman had to die and have this attach to her name.  What will her daughter think and feel as she grows into being a teenager and she learns how to Google her mom's name on the internet?  What about the peer pressure she will face and the long list of "what if's" to follow?  Whatever good her mother Miriam had will be a distant memory to the world who knew of her only yesterday.  Her family and friends will have to remember this tragedy, especially her daughter.  This child will need therapy to deal with the images of the last time she spent with her mom on that dreadful day.  Can you imagine putting your child in the middle of a horrific scene that seems to be made only for television and not real life?  Can you imagine being killed right in front of your child?  I can't.  What legacy are we leaving behind for our families and love ones?  My heart aches for this child and yours should too!  Regardless of what her mother actions were this child is innocent.  Find it in your heart to pray for those suffering with any type of mental illness.  May God keep this baby in his arms as she now grows up motherless.

Sincerely,

The Clock is Ticking......

Hillary Clinton died and went to Heaven. St. Peter was giving her a tour of Heaven when she noticed that there were dozens of clocks on the wall. Each clock displayed a different time of day.
When she asked St. Peter about the clocks, he replied, ''We have a clock for each person on earth and every time they tell a lie the hands move. The clock ticks off one second each time a lie is told.'' Special attention was given to two clocks. The clock belonging to Mother Teresa has never moved, indicating that she never told a lie. The clock for Abraham Lincoln has only moved twice. He only told two lies in his life. Hillary asked ''Where is Bill's clock?''
St. Peter replied, ''Jesus has it in his office... he's using it as a ceiling fan.'''

What is your clock saying about you?

In His Sandals

Poem I love and wanted to share.  Thanks Louis Gander who wrote it!!!  Enjoy!

In His Sandals

I cannot serve two masters. I serve, but only one,
for if I love some sinfulness, I hate God's only Son.
Could I walk in His sandals? Do I really understand?
Of what would it encompass? Of what would it demand?

Could I put up with some abuse, and could I humbly be,
a whipping board of insults, for all to scoff at me?
Could I withstand a whipping? Tell me, would I know,
the pain down in my open wounds, torn flesh from every blow?

Could I, but bear the privilege - to be a king renowned,
my face stained in bloody streaks from such a thorny crown?
Would I know the cost of love, and God's most precious grace,
or would I simply think of me, and hate the human race?

Could I endure the anguish, as ropes bind hands and feet,
knotted up so tightly that - I'd give in to defeat?
There on my back, could I stare at - a spike set on my skin,
then watch them take a heavy stone, and slam it deep within?

Oh, I'd know what's coming next - I'd clench my other fist.
Could I endure another nail - or would I just resist?
When tortured even further, could pain be so complete,
when to the cross I'm nailed with - another through my feet?

Slowly ropes raise cross and I. The base slides in the hole.
Then in ghastly, horrid pain, would that jerk shake my soul?
And there I'd hang, alone up high - for all to mock and hate.
Could I endure the anguish then? Can I, to that relate?

Could I survive for hours, in pain and endless shame?
Would I ask Gods forgiveness - for those that I could blame?
Could I die for ALL the world - their sinful sacrifice -
and know that few would love me? Would that, for me, suffice?

Would my final miracle call for a heavenly host?
Or would I yield to Father's will and then give up the ghost?
Hate and anger would not end - the sword would pierce my side....
Oh, would I slip away and hide? Which way would I decide?

His sandals are too large to fill. His time, so long ago,
and Heaven - much too far away, while I'm down here below.
But could I wear His sandals - if I was called upon,
and are my trials greater that - I'd gladly put His on?

He demands my little faith. He holds no speck of wrath,
when He's a lamp unto my feet - a light unto my path.
Yes, I wear His sandals - for I've been called upon,
and faithful every morning I - slip them boldly on.

This poem may explain it - but who truly understands?
For every sin that we commit puts nails through Jesus' hands....
We cannot serve two masters. We serve, but only one.
We have to hate all sinfulness, to love God's only Son.

Big Rocks

This story is dear to me.  It was emailed to me and I found it very helpful especially since the big rocks in my life has not fit in my jar.  Worrying about the small stuff is unnecessary, and not called for.  So, I will do better in my thinking to keep it from stinking.  Enjoy and be blessed from the story!!!

The Big Rocks
One day, an expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students. To drive home a point, he used an illustration those students will never forget. As he stood in front of the group of high powered overachievers he said, "Okay, it is time for a quiz." Then he pulled out a one-gallon, wide-mouthed Mason jar and set it on the table in front of him. Then he produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the jar. When the jar was filled to the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, "Is this jar full?"

Everyone in the class said, "Yes." The management expert asked, "Really?" He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. Then he dumped some gravel in and shook the jar causing pieces of gravel to work themselves down into the space between the big rocks. Then he asked the group once more, "Is the jar full?" By this time the class was on to him. "Probably not," one of them answered. "Good!" he replied. He reached under the table and brought out a bucket of sand. He started dumping the sand in the jar and it went into all of the spaces left between the rocks and the gravel. Once more he asked the question, "Is this jar full?" No!" the class shouted. Once again he said, "Good." Then he grabbed a pitcher of water and began to pour it in until the jar was filled to the brim.

At this point he looked at the class and asked, "What is the point of this illustration?"

One eager beaver raised his hand and said, "The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard you can always fit some more things in it!"

"No," the speaker replied, "that's not the point. The truth this illustration teaches us is: If you don't put the big rocks in first, you'll never get them in at all."

What are the 'big rocks' in your life? GOD. Your children; Your loved ones; Your education; Your dreams; A worthy cause; Teaching or mentoring others; Doing things that you love; Time or yourself; Your health; Your significant other. Remember to put these BIG ROCKS in first or you'll never get them in at all. If you sweat the little stuff (the gravel, the sand) then you'll fill your life with little things you worry about that don't really matter, and you'll never have the real quality time you need to spend on the big, important stuff (the big rocks).

So, tonight, or in the morning, when you are reflecting on this short story, ask yourself this question: What are the 'big rocks' in my life?

Start with God... and put that rock in the jar first.

Are We Too Busy?

Are We Too Busy?
I would like think that I always time for God but that would be a lie.  I am always doing something and I don't always stop and give God my time, the time he deserves.  Even when I am in this church all week I walk into sanctuary and pray all the way to the other end.  I don't stop and reflect on His goodness like I use to.  Nothing is more important than paying dues where they are owed.  I owe God!  It's just that simple.  So......I vow to begin my devoted behavior in prayer right now.  So until we meet again, here is poem written by Leona Miller.  Enjoy!  P.S.  Go pray and give your time to God!  I'm Just Saying!

Are We Too Busy?
Another beautiful sunrise is shining,
And casts sparkles among the trees,
The sun rises higher each moment,
Have we taken time, upon our knees?

Do we hurry through, with God, in Prayer....
So we can rush about, this day?
Do we take time....for others, to care?
Or, are we "too busy"....to even Pray?

The way of Life goes so much better,
If we spend time with our Father,
Remember Jesus...and ask for Guidance,
And always Praying, daily, for one another.

How quickly the day comes to an end,
And the sun sinks...in the Western sky,
God Loves us...and walks with us,
And He will be with us...when we die.

I Refuse.....

Life has a way of kicking us down.  It's up to us to allow it or we can do refuse to give up.  I was looking over my email when I say this poem "I refuse."  It was right on time for me.  Today has been such a trying morning, after all my weekend was filled with aches and pain.  I want to share this and I pray that your spirit is touched and filled with the promises of God.  I did not write it and I am not sure who did.  Feel free to leave me a message, I check daily.  :-)

I Refuse!
I refuse to be discouraged, To be sad, or to cry;
I refuse to be downhearted, and here's the reason why:
I have a God who's mighty, Who's sovereign and supreme;
I have a God who loves me, and I am on His team.
He is all-wise and powerful. Jesus is His name;
Though everything is changeable, My God remains the same.
My God knows all that's happening; Beginning to the end;
His presence is my comfort; He is my dearest Friend.
When sickness comes to weaken me, To bring my head down low,
I call upon my mighty God; Into His arms I go.
When circumstances threaten to rob me of my peace;
He draws me close unto His breast, Where all my strivings cease.
When my heart melts within me, and weakness takes control;
He gathers me into His arms, He soothes my heart and soul.
The great "I AM" is with me. My life is in His hand.
The "Son of the Lord" is my hope. It's in His strength I stand.
I refuse to be defeated. My eyes are on my God;
He has promised to be with me, As through this life I trod.
I'm looking past all my circumstances, To Heaven's throne above;
My prayers have reached the heart of God I'm resting in His love.
I give God thanks in everything. My eyes are on His face;
The battle's His, the victory mine; He'll help me win the race.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!!!

21 Again (I'm Just Saying!)

Life is just too short.  I remember when I was 21 thinking the world was mine!  I was in better health.  My joints didn't ache.  I could run for distance without having an asthma attack or become out of breath.  My home phone, no such thing as a cellphone back then, would ring for me all the time making my mother crazy!  The biggest issue I had was my eczema and how bad my skin looked.  Today I look back wishing I was 21 again.  The only time my phone ring now is for doctor's wanting me to come into their office or a nurse giving me bad news of a test or calling in a new prescription.

No one tells you to exercise when you are 21.  No one tells you to eat right when you're 21.  Its always "have something to eat", "are you hungry?" "Here try these smoother pork chops, corn bread, greens and mac and cheese."  "Eat some more and get some meat on them bones."

No ones tells you that if you're thick and popping in the body, you'll get thicker.  Now the word "thick" is no longer what you are called.  It's FAT and OBESE and your once perky breast or nice round bottom will all go south without your permission.  Which by then your sagging will have you spending your retirement on a plastic surgeon.  Not a good look.

I mean seriously no one tells you not to drop it like its hot because your knees will be replaced one day.  No one tells a 21 year old that those high heels with be replaced with those handicap old people shoes with the thick soles that has no laces only the straps.

No one tells you that all the candy and sweets you use to live for will have your teeth falling out and now you're one tooth from having dentures.  Let's hope you could afford them!!  Otherwise you would look a hot mess in the mouth!

No one say to a 21 year old wearing weave with all that glue or not properly taken care of their hair will require them to wear those wigs yo granny use to wear.  You know the ones that is crooked, matted & raggedy & every time she bends her head the wig lifts up in the back.

No one ever tells a 21 yr old that twerking and showing their body off will be a time of the pass.  Especially when you can no longer see beneath the top of the belly that use to be flat.

No..........they wait until you reach the age when you have no energy, no time, no patience, no cares, no reason , no vision, and no clue.   No they wait to tell all the stuff you've done at 21 is now the price you'll pay today.

Yes people you'll gain high blood pressure (salty food), diabetes (all that candy and sweets), high cholesterol (fatty foods), arthritis (joints keep dropping it like it hots folks), gout (say by to those heels), balding of the hair (wig/weave/glue), irritable bowl syndrome, diverticulitis, thyroid issues the list goes on and on.

Isn't it funny that with age comes a new set of issues?  It's remembering to take "my" medication or where was I going kind of thing.  With age comes a list of things that would get on your nerves when at 21 you would laugh at it or keep on moving.  If you are 21 or young in that arena.  Listen up!  With age comes wisdom......wisdom to know that your tail is old or will be old and 21 is never coming again!!!!!  I'm Just Saying!!!!

Possibilites

In a world where there is so much hate
how can one create
an wonderful atmosphere
where there is so much fear?
People judging and pointing fingers
while others are hating while their emotions linger
Yet they won't understand
how much power they give to one man
Power they no longer hold
Yet their life crumbles and unfold
Before their very eyes
Yet I wondered.....how many more lies
will our government tell
As they yell...."WE WILL RISE"
So much for freedom of speech
Can't be a Christian and believe
in what the Pastor preach
You either hate gays
or denounce God for many more
non better days
Personally I stand, ME, on the Word of God
Call me what you may
pin me or stab me with your rod
I will neva' turn back
I stand on his track
the world has gone nuts
Washington is corrupt
This group trash talk another
and that group discredits his brother
Sisters shaking what they think is their
money maker
disappointed again cause no man
would take her
to be his wife
yesterday, today never in this life
so she settles for anything
since she can't get that wedding ring
"God is on His way"
so they say
Will you retire your sin
and give in
or will you continue to judge those who has
or keep talking until you
run out of gas
this world has gone nuts
America is on the verge of bankrupt
Other countries slaughter their own
for standing and protesting even in their home
While we as Americans sit on our throne
racing to jump to fight another battle
that's not even our home.
Why do we allow millions of Americans to be on the street
Die from hunger, be killed by police or beaten?
So many battles to date
So many people who hate
From Afghanistan, Iraq, and many others
to Cali, Miami, Ohio  with daughters
against mothers
and sons against father
and no one seems to even be bothered
Why is this world nuts
Are people all talk while sitting on their butts?
The possibilities are small
Too many people had to fall
Free yourself of hate
Free yourself to create
Free your mind
Don't waste your time
or mine
Get it right this time
or you will get left behind.
God told me it wouldn't be easy
Yet I wish I could only say, "Be Breezy"
and bounce with wind
and worry only about my sin
The destruction in us all
is enough to make heaven fall
How does God worry about the mess
I'm on this earth and its hard not to stress
Children have no respect
thugs without a job hollering.......next!
Single mothers go for broke to raise their kids
Huh....and daddy thinks he has a degree in biz.......ness
What a mess!
Afraid to make a legal dime
But want to sit on my clock doing nothing only to whine
You're not winning
When the head is spinning
out of control
get a hold
on life
it ain't right!
I tell you this world is nuts
When will we get off our butts
We are truly bankrupted
our acceptance of foolishness is corrupted
One thing I am certain of
is God unconditional love
America was the land of opportunities
now its a land limited possibilities.

The Dream

`I saw a dream which made me afraid and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me` Daniel 4:5

Have you ever watched drum majors?
It is a fascinating experience to watch as they strike up the band, blow their whistles and lead the parade. The drum major sets the pace of the march, signals the cadence for the drummers, and directs the band as it plays and marches.
Martin Luther King characterized his role in history as that of a "drum major." There were many instruments of freedom in the movement that included the Urban League, C.O.R.E., N.A.A.C.P, and Black Panthers, that were playing tunes and warming up. The various players stood ready but there was no single person that could "strike up the band" and get them to march for a single purpose until Dr. King arrived. Refusing to take much credit for his actions in his last words to America he said, "If any of you are around when I meet my day, I don't want a long funeral. I'd like somebody to say that Martin Luther King, Jr. tried to give his life serving others...yes if you want say that I was a drum major, say I was a drum major for justice..peace..righteousness." As a drum major, Dr. King pricked the conscious of America and challenged the dormant players of our ethnic leadership to take an active and even dangerous step toward breaking down the barriers of hatred in America.
As America salutes the memory of this great man, we who knew him must resist the attempts to tame his image by glorifying him as a mystic dreamer, a godlike hero image to be worshipped and idolized while the sacred principles for which he lived and died are continuously desecrated. By focusing the emphasis on Dr. King as a futuristic dreamer rather than as an activist that stirred the world to take action against racism, poverty, and war, the established powers have sterilized his legacy and made it safe for public consumption. If the focus remains on the abstract nature of the dream, then less emphasis will be placed upon the activism that was necessary in King's time and is needed now to fulfill the dream's demands.
As Christians, we understand the role of prophets of God. We know that each was raised by God to respond to the crises of the hour. Each was empowered by the Spirit of the Lord to lead the march for freedom and justice in their generation.
While Dr. King was a great man, we do not elevate him to a godly statue, we give thanks to God for using him to help facilitate the blessing of increased liberty for all.

When Nebuchadnezzar called Daniel into is throne room he told him he had a problem. It seemed that Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylonian King, had had a dream but he could not understand what it meant.  He called upon Daniel to tell him the meaning of the dream. Daniel may have told him in these words `well king you started with a pretty dream that turned into a nightmare.
` You dreamed you saw a mighty tree whose branches expanded wide, the birds nested among its branches; its fruits fed the hungry of the land. You dreamed you saw a mighty, grand and glorious tree. But you heard a voice from Heaven saying cut the tree down...that`s when your dream turned into a nightmare.
It means that right now your kingdom is large and has grown strong, but God is going to cut you down.

If Black America is to survive we must return to the old land mark.
We must work to strengthen the fabric of our families.
Share and reflect together, engage and family building projects and activities, develop respect for our elders and our roots...  We must rekindled to the fires of our ancestors, grandmothers and fathers.
We must awaken the sleeping consciousness of our people to remind them that there`s proud and rich heritage.
We must foster, image building activities among our youth, image reinforcing activities among adults, and constantly remind every woman and child whose heritage comes from the shores of Africa that while association and cooperation with those outside of our race is necessary, assimilation is not and usually means annihilation.
We must keep the fire of faith burning ever brightly.
We must remind our children that we have come over a stony and mountainous road.
We have  come through many valleys and survived the wintery snows of despair...only by the will God.
We must keep in front of them the way of forefathers.
We must keep, the old hymn, the old prayers,
We must keep on singing `A charge to keep I have, a God to glorify.`Our song must forever be:
`God of weary years, God of our silent tears, though who has brought us thus far along the way.
Though who has by thy might led us into the light, keep us in the path we pray.
Lest our feet stray for the place where our God we met thee
Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world we forget thee, shadowed beneath thy hand may we forever stand true to our God true to our native land.!

Are you ready?

 Happy New Year to you!

With the new year in full swing, there are a lot people who claim to know when the world will end.  Some are posted online, on television such as the History channel and even in book formats.  Truth is NOONE knows when Jesus will return.  Jesus said in Matt 24:42-44:  42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Why do people say the world will end or that it will be doomsday on this  particular date?  Maybe they do it for attention or they just think they know it all perhaps?   Truth is, in 1 Thessalonians 5:2 For you know quite well that the day of the Lord's return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.

If we believe what we see and hear, we are saying the Bible is not true.  That is why we must have faith as a mustard seed and not to walk by sight but by faith.  He also tells us in 2 Thessalonians 2:2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come.  I think we should make sure we are ready for His return.  We shouldn't worry about the hour, day or time of the demise of the world.  It almost like judging a sinner outside the church and not looking at self.

This year I wasn't worried about making another broken resolution.  The only thing I am focusing on is staying in the presence of God!  There is no other place I want to be.  It is my secret place.  It is my safe haven from everyday life and people.  I can totally depend and trust on Him.  Once a person lose focus from God to something they have no control or authority over, they take a risk in not being in God's holiness of holy!  I don't know about you but I need to stay in His holiness!  Even if its people, place and things are tempting me to sin, I must be ready!

If a person was picking you up for a meeting, would you be ready?  Of course you would.  Why do we make serving Christ harder than it has to be?  Do you realize how awful Christians are frowned upon?  We have become a laughing joke to sinners.  Why?  Christians have allowed sin to reside in the house of God.  We have become too relax by not wanting to upset the sinners.  We get afraid they will leave our congregations.  So we allow the Jezebels whore-mongers, homosexuals, pedophiles, liars, thieves, etc., (the list is long and so is the sin) by not taking a stand on God's Word!  He said in 1 Cor. 5:12 It isn't my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. So why do we have sinners in leadership positions?  Why do we feel its not our place to sit down a woman who is sleeping with any man that would let her?  Why is the choir director practicing homosexuality and leading our praise and worship?  Where are they leading us to? Straight to damnation if we are not careful.

Don't think for a second that the foolishness we accept that isn't of God won't have an affect on your walk with Christ.  Think again!  How many times have you ever woke up happy and just as soon as you get around someone who isn't happy you start feeling like them? Its no different in the church.  People who are suppose to show examples of Christ start showing everything unlike God by not speaking to others, helping others, and by not paying tithes, the list goes on.  God is pure.  God is holy.  God is honest.  God is looking for his soldiers to be in place at all times.  God is wanting you to make the right choices.  God is coming back.  I don't know when, I don't know the hour or the day but I do know I WILL BE READY!

WILL YOU?

Someone asked me,"How do you get ready?"  Simple.  Confess out of your mouth that you believe Jesus died and resurrected for our sins.  Tell God how sorry your are for the sin you lived in and ask for forgiveness.  That is your way of repenting for the awful things you have done.  Ask God to provide total restoration and complete deliverance over your life.  Get into a bible based church and most importantly get into the Word of God.  Read and study your bible daily.  Take the Word of God  everywhere you go.  When you find yourself falling, get back up!
We all fall short of the glory of God but we fight the fight to maintain our place with Him.  The moment we stop fighting could very well be the opportunity for His return.  ALWAYS be ready my brother!  Always be ready my sister!   If you would like for me to keep you in my prayers, please email me at pray4me.

I'm Just Saying! Ten worst gifts to buy a woman

Ten worst gifts to buy a woman

1. Never give a woman any kind of household appliance or something that is going to make "housework" easier. For instance, a blender, a toaster, a new vacuum, one of those mops they advertise on TV that does everything but suck the life out of you, anything in a infomercial. One allowed choice is a new washing machine with a turbo spin cycle. (Makes laundry day go by pretty fast when you can at least sit on it during spin-dry and end up smiling the rest of the day.)

2. Any bulk cleaning supplies, "honey, I got you that large box of Tide you have been wanting." "This Windex should last you a while." "I got a good deal on the industrial strength toilet bowl cleaner." All I can say is, be prepared to run. I have faith that if you would have at least stopped and thought about what would be a much more intimate gift, you would have had the sense to spring for the $5 Chia Pet you were eying in Kmart.

3. Any sharp objects made by Ronco which slices or dices, or a set of Ginsu knives. These may one day be used as a weapon against you when you come home with lipstick on your collar after a "night out with the boys."

4. Do not buy gifts for yourself and pretend they are for her. "Honey, I'm sure you'll get a lot of use out of the new drill I bought you." By then she will have put it to good use by drilling a quarter inch hole into the side of your skull for even thinking she would accept such a lame gift. After a gift like this, you probably won't be around for NEXT Christmas.

5. Any lingerie made of flannel, such as a pair of feet pajamas with a trap door in back. A Little Mermaid or Barney cartoon character nightgown. It gives her the idea that you do not consider her the beautiful woman that she is. Take out that wallet and buy her something sexy from Victoria Secret (just like you did for your mistress or other girlfriend).

6. No name perfume which costs you $1.99, such as Eu de Toilet, which actually smells like the bathroom, moldy fruit, or your dirty socks. If you are going to buy her perfume, spring for the brand names.

7. Any type of cubic zirconia jewelry you see on the Home Shopping Network. It will be quite embarrassing when she is showing off that fabulous diamond to her friends and tries to cut glass with it. (We actually test them you know.)

8. Please do not buy her clothes because you think for one minute you have good taste in woman's clothing. Well, perhaps you might if you are a transvestite, but all in all, believe me, she'll smile and say its beautiful while choking back tears and mumbling under her breath, "were the *#&$ would I ever wear this outfit without being arrested for bad taste?" An additional hint, plaids do not go with stripes (even though you think your golfing outfit looks just fine). Its a known fact to the rest of the world that that is a taboo. In the Northeast, that's like wearing white after Labor Day.

9. Do not give her a gift certificate to Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. Most men would know better, especially the ones who have learned the correct response to "do these pants make me look fat." If you are one of the poor souls who still doesn't get it and purchased a gift like this, be prepared for the silent treatment for a month. (Although that may be something you would actually look forward to.) A better alternative would be hiring a Chippendale dancer as a personal trainer to get her motivated into getting fit.

10. Last but not least, never buy a woman anti-wrinkle cream, or a book on "How not to be Nasty Sunday through Saturday." These are not considered gifts, they are considered reasons for seriously injuring the person who bought it and just may stand up in court of law.

Being Alone - Devotional

Many of us are alone.  In our thoughts, in our homes, in our marriages and even in our very own families.  Some call it being "isolated" or even being "anti social."  I call it being smart especially when you're dealing with drama type people.

Now before I go any further let's think about this:
Noah built the ark and voyaged alone. His neighbors laughed at his strangeness and perished in style.
Abraham wandered and worshiped alone.
Sodomites smiled at the simple shepherd, followed the fashion, and fed the flames.
Daniel dined and prayed alone.
Elijah sacrificed and witnessed alone.
Jeremiah prophesied and wept alone.
Jesus loved and died alone."
Why did their faith require them to go it alone?  Because the general rule of most people in this world is that they'd rather not.  Most folks would rather not stand alone.  In fact, they'd just as soon "leave well enough...alone".  They'd rather not rock the boat.  They'd rather not be seen as judgmental.  They'd rather just "live and let live."   But belonging to Christ sometimes requires us to go against the grain.  It sometimes calls us to call sin, sin.  It sometimes requires us to stand up for God's truth even when others tell us to sit down and shut up.

I don't think being alone today is traumatizing as our mind wants us to believe.  If these bible people can be alone and still have the peace of God, I say, "sign me up."  They may have wept or even died alone, but the truth is they are more alive and surrounded by God and His heavenly angels.  They are with Him, God, which is where I want to be eventually.   Whatever I may endure on earth will not far cedes the final outcome.  I know that I am really never alone.  God says, "I will never LEAVE you nor forsaken you."  So why would I say I am alone when I have my very own guardian?  We say we are alone because we don't know Christ for ourselves.  We expect people, places and things to validate us.  Have you ever vacationed alone?  What about on a date with yourself, alone?

My husband and I got together when I was 20 years old and I never wanted to be alone.  I learned that in order for others to deal with me, I should be able to deal with myself.....alone!  What better way to get to know yourself?  I had to be divorced from my husband, only to be reunited again in marriage, just so I can learn how to properly love and know me.  It sound crazy huh?  I learned how to spend quality time with me which taught me my self worth.  What I allowed others to do to me then seems like decades ago.  I wish someone would try to take advantage of my worth today.....I'm just saying!  Its war baby!  lol  God didn't make no junk or no punk.  ;-)

Its all about you!  We take for granted each other.  If we didn't marriages wouldn't break up, families wouldn't argue and people would have the same people as their friends.  Yeah God said that its not good for man to be alone and that he will make him a help mate.  However I don't think he meant we can be alone to improve our self worth.  Being alone means that we should be able to be alone with God.  We should talk to Him, lean on Him, listening to His still small voice while waiting on His direction for your life.  Being alone  means to have much peace and keeping all the everyday hustle and bustle of drama out of your mind.  People take for granted the thought of being alone.  They think you must share your bed with someone, your every available time with their spouse, kids, work or even friends.   Stop smothering them and smothering God for once.  Give it a try!  I promise you will love His attention.  Isn't it funny how people want the comforts of people in their life only to want their "space"?  Bottom line we want what we want when we want it.  If we feel like being bothered, so be it but if we want to be alone we are in our zone.

Being alone isn't a bad thing if you are using the alone time for good.  Such as getting closer to God or taking time to improve your mental or physical being.  The next time you are alone, think of God checking in on all the people, animals, plants (people, place and things) that are worshiping Him even as we speak.  Ask yourself, is God alone?  If you say yes, then keep Him company.  If you say no, he has the whole universe and that he doesn't need you.  You may be right!  However, chances are you need him!  Proverbs 18:1 "Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment."  In other words, If we would get knowledge and grace, we must try all methods of improving ourselves.

Being alone can be good when used for good.  Being alone can be depressing along with a long list of things when we fail to know Christ.  When we don't know him and are alone temptations are harder to resist. If all the people mentioned earlier can be alone, why do we think we can't be alone with God?  Matthew 4:4 states, "But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” The reason why Jesus said this was because he was fasting for 40 days and was being tempted by the devil.  Jesus was in wilderness not to sight see, and not to eat but to spend time ALONE with God.

Why do we depend so much on others for our joy and happiness?  Something to think about as we are preparing for the season of giving.  Instead of giving out gifts, give the best gift of all by spending some alone time with God!  Talk to Him and let Him use you.  Let Him create in you a right mind and a right spirit!

I Love You (Poem)

No matter how many times you turn back on me, I Love You!
No matter how many times you allow the enemy to use you, abuse you, mistreat you and others in your surrounding.
I Love You.
Every time you turn your nose up to the person I send to meet you at your path of crossing, I Love You.
When you refuse to attend services at my house and even at your own, I still Love You.
For every curse word,
For every evil thing you have done to someone,
The lies you have told,
The hearts you have broken,
The gossiping and rumors you have spread,
The disrespect you have shown to your elders, to your parents and even to yourself.
My leaders who are put in place to teach & reach while you turned a deaf ear to them.
Even when you refuse to believe that my son is the only reason why I haven't taken you out yet, Understand its because I Love You!
Every time you do the very things that hurts me, I bow my head with great sadness because I Love You that much.  My love allows you to make your OWN decision of where you want to live eternally.

I guess you won't be coming with me after all.

-God
